Why I Created SoulBody Wellness

Hey friends! I’m Laurel — a trauma therapist, spiritual intuitive, founder of Redwood Coast Psychotherapy, and SoulBody Wellness, and host of Spiritual Friction.

My work has grown from both professional training and lived experience. I’ve spent years sitting with people through trauma, grief, anxiety, identity shifts, and the quieter experience of feeling disconnected from themselves.

Over time, one thing became increasingly clear: many of us feel alone.

SoulBody Wellness and Spiritual Friction provide a sense of community and bring people together, reminding us that none of us are alone. They offer a space to laugh, share stories, and relish in the messiness of being human.

The Heart of My Work

My work is person-centered, relational, and deeply human. I believe there is something powerful about being seen, heard, and understood—and having space to share the parts of our stories we don’t always know what to do with.

I’m interested in the ways our experiences shape how we understand ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. I value curiosity over judgment, connection over perfection, and creating space for the full range of what it means to be human.

Every person carries a story, and I consider it an honor to witness and hold that story with care.

A Personal Thread

My calling to this work began early. Even as a child, I felt a deep pull toward helping others. My own life has been shaped by experiences of illness, disconnection, depression, anxiety, and profound sensitivity. I know what it’s like to feel unseen, to struggle in silence, and to search for language around pain that feels hard to name.

These experiences don’t define me, but they have shaped how I understand healing, connection, and what it means to feel deeply. They’ve taught me that healing is rarely linear, that resilience often grows quietly over time, and that sometimes simply knowing we aren’t alone can make a difference.

Quiet your mind.

Listen to your heart.

A Space for Healing and Story

Across my work, my intention is to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and understood.

Whether you’re listening to Spiritual Friction, joining us in community, or simply finding language for something you’ve been carrying, you’re welcome here.

Thank you for being here.
I look forward to getting to know your story.

Warmly,
Laurel
