How to Reconnect With Your Inner Voice and Heal Your Inner Child | Spiritual Friction

A conversation on intuition, trauma healing, and reconnecting with your inner voice with Ashana Kaiulani.

There are moments in our lives where something shifts—where we begin to see life in a new way.
This conversation with Ashana was one of those moments for me.

This was my first conversation with Ashana, and yet it felt as though I’ve known her for lifetimes. There was a gentleness to her presence—and to the way we moved through this conversation—that stayed with me long after we finished recording.

Together, we explored generational trauma, intuition, and the quiet ways we learn to disconnect from ourselves in order to survive. We spoke about somatic experiences—blushing, full-body chills, tingling—and the ways our bodies communicate with us when we begin to listen.

A Conversation for Deep Feelers

This is a conversation for the introspective, sensitive, and deeply intelligent person—the one who feels deeply and knows there is more to life than what meets the eye.

It’s for the part of you that learned to stay small.
The part that questioned its own knowing.
The part that silenced its intuition in order to belong, to be safe, or to be understood.

There is nothing wrong with you.

There are simply parts of you that adapted.

Reconnecting With Your Inner Voice

At one point in the conversation, Ashana shares:

“I had convinced myself that I'd never had an intuition all along because I had silenced it.”

That line stayed with me.

Because so many of us haven’t lost our intuition—we’ve just learned not to trust it.
We’ve learned to override it.
To question it.
To quiet it.

Reconnecting with your inner voice isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about remembering who you’ve always been.

It’s about creating enough safety—within your body, your relationships, and your life—to begin listening again.

Healing the Inner Child

We also explored what it means to come back to the younger parts of ourselves—the ones who didn’t feel safe to be seen, heard, or fully expressed.

Inner child healing isn’t about going backward.
It’s about offering yourself now what you needed then.

Attention.
Presence.
Compassion.

It’s about learning how to sit with yourself in a different way.

A Gentle Invitation

I’ve been holding this conversation close to my heart since September—honoring it, protecting it, and allowing it to unfold in its own time.

I share it with you now with an open heart and an outstretched hand.

If you feel deeply…
If you’ve been searching for something you can’t quite name…
If there’s a quiet part of you that’s been waiting to be heard…

This conversation will meet you there.
